Capacity Planning

Capacity planning compares the demand for resources with the available capacity. It answers the question of whether enough staff, material and equipment are on hand to deliver the planned work on time.

Capacity planning is especially critical in a multi-project environment, because several projects share the same resources. A shared resource pool makes it visible where bottlenecks arise and supports the decision about which initiatives to prioritize or postpone.
