Project Portfolio
A project portfolio is the entirety of all projects of an organization or a division that are viewed and managed centrally. In contrast to the individual project, the focus here is on the overarching question of which initiatives to pursue, prioritize or stop.
Portfolio management ensures that the limited resources are allocated to the projects with the greatest benefit. It creates an overview of utilization, risks and strategic contribution. Often a Project Management Office takes on this management.
